PB KidLit – Creation and God’s Promise



Picture the Bible KidLit brings together biblical literature, children’s literature, and art to foster biblical literacy, encourage students to explore biblical and theological ideas and connect them to their lives and the world.

Creation and God’s Promise is the first of seven resources in the new Picture the Bible KidLit series. All seven KidLit resources together will bring you 52 stories from Picture the Bible in this easy-to-use new resource. The resources can be used in any order.

This set of lessons begins with Genesis, introduces the patriarchs of Israel and finishes in pharoah’s Egypt. (The Exodus is in the next set, God Saves.)walks through the events of Holy Week, from the Entry into Jerusalem to the Crucifixion.Each lesson contains the core components of a Sunday School class: a Bible story, a related children’s literature story, a creative art project, conversation, and prayer. The lesson is flexible and readily meets the needs of a range of learners. The lessons do not require extensive preparations from teachers—background information and biblical insights are provided! This series can be used in a wide range of congregational contexts.

This resource relies on Picture the Bible art and the book Picture the Bible, published by The Pilgrim Press (www.thepilgrimpress.com).

PB KidLit—Creation and God’s Promise is a downloadable resource of 7 lessons. Print each lesson on letter-sized paper and fold in half. The lesson is only needed for the teacher.
